How it works

1. Site visit | Timbre Access, levels, ground, boundaries. Whether a nine-tonne pool can reach the spot you have in mind, and what it costs if it cannot.
2. Design | Timbre Position, levels, surrounds, planting and lighting, drawn as a set you can price and build from.
3. Consent | Timbre Building consent for the pool and the fencing, lodged and tracked through council.
4. Pool built and delivered* | Plungee pour your pool in Hawke’s Bay, finish it in your colour, and truck it to Taranaki.
5. Installed and landscaped Contractors Managed by Timbre Excavation, crane, connection, then the surrounds and planting. Managed by Timbre, built by contractors.
   

Good to know

Do I buy the pool from Timbre or from Plungee? Either. Timbre can order the pool as part of your package, or you can buy directly from Plungee and engage Timbre for the design and the build around it. The design work is the same.

Does Timbre install the pool? No. Timbre designs, consents and manages. Excavation, craneage and construction are carried out by Taranaki contractors Timbre has an established working relationship with, working to Timbre’s drawings. Plungee only install in Hawke’s Bay.

How does that work here? Plungee install in Hawke’s Bay and distribute* nationwide. In Taranaki the pool is trucked up and Timbre coordinates the local excavation, crane and connection. That coordination is what the packages are for.

Do I need a building consent? Yes, in almost every case, for the pool and separately for the fencing. Pool barriers are a building code matter and councils enforce them. Consent documentation is part of the Consented and managed package.

What does it cost all up? The pool is Plungee’s published price plus GST, and every pool includes the Timbre basic design and siting report at $1,500 +GST. *Freight to Taranaki runs between $900 and $1,500 est. +GST Crane, excavation, surrounds and planting depend entirely on your site - a flat section with street access and a steep one with a right of way are different jobs. You get a fixed price after the site visit.

How long does it take? Allow time for consent, varies by council. The pool itself is made to order. From first site visit to swimming, plan on several months rather than several weeks.

Can I do some of it myself? Yes. Plungee sell the pool as a DIY unit finished in raw concrete, and plenty of people handle their own excavation or landscaping. Timbre can do the design and the consent and step back at that point.

Good to know
Where do you install? Installation is Taranaki. Planters ship free NZ-wide to urban addresses*, so supply-only works anywhere in the country. Beyond Taranaki, planting and placement is quoted with travel/delivery costs.

How long does it take? Modscene planters are made to order and dispatch in two to six days. Allow two to three weeks from confirmed order to a planted cluster in place, longer if a specimen plant has to be grown on.

Can I mix ranges in one cluster? Yes, and it often works better than one range repeated. A 'Barcelona Bowl' at the base of 'two Milans' is a common pairing. Note in your enquiry and we will compose across ranges and price the package accordingly.

Can I choose a colour that is not shown? Yes. Modscene make 31 colours -all available. The six shown are the ones that sit best against Taranaki planting and most local cladding. Order your colour samples before you commit-today!

What about watering-maintenance? Containers dry out faster than beds. Every planted package includes: watering & feeding notes for the first twelve months. Drip irrigation can be specified and installed as are 'saucers/risers' (help with airflow underneth).

Can I do some-all of it myself? Yes. Modscene website has great range- other configurations and Modscene products can be quoted if your requirements differ from the above packages.
