Timbre \TAM-bruh\ \TAM·BƏR
Timbre refers to the unique quality of a musical note or the distinct character of something or someone. Landscape is not static and within Te Ao Māori, The Māori world view, landscape is living and often can be connection to ancestors or have wairua in its own right.
At Timbre, we believe that by engaging with our environments holistically, we can gain deeper meaning and understanding. Landscapes tell stories of our origins and identity, and by listening to them, we can strengthen our bond with both the land and each other.
We often focus on visual snapshots, neglecting the importance of sound and other senses in shaping our experience of space. Our work aims to enhance environments, not just aesthetically but in ways that deepen our connection to place and community.
"Sound and perception of space" refers to how hearing helps us understand and navigate our surroundings, especially when visual cues are limited.
